About our internship program:

Our common goal is to give you experience and build a portfolio for post college employment. This is for college credit only (not paid). We will hold you to a high standard, and you’ll be a better writer, designer, and marketer for it.

What we do for you:

  • Provide real-world experience in media (includes working at sponsored and hosted events).
  • Help build a portfolio of your work.
  • Expose your work to a statewide audience.
  • Serve as mentors as you begin your media career.
  • Help with networking opportunities.

Some of what interns do for 605:

  • Write content for our print publication and website.
  • Take photos and/or assist at photo/video shoots.
  • Create illustrations, help with layout, and other design elements.
  • Help at events, like 605 Day (June 5, 2021) and the 605 Summer Classic (June 19, 2021). Required for college credit.

What we expect from our interns:

  • Meet deadlines and be on time.
  • Be a self-starter (very important) and also a team player that wears multiple hats.
  • Take the opportunity seriously like a full time position.
  • Have excellent/timely communication skills.
  • Contribute to our vibrant, inclusive workplace culture and stick to the internship schedule.
  • Represent the 605 brand in a positive way, both in the office and in public.
