Monick Yards opened in 2023 with the vision of bringing a modern-industrial venue to downtown Sioux Falls.
“We transformed a former industrial building into an elevated space designed for connection, celebration, and creativity,” said event manager Claire Litzen. “Every detail was thoughtfully considered, resulting in a venue that is not only beautiful, but highly functional.”
That functionality extends to the spacious, flexible layout, offering couples an expansive canvas clients can truly make their own.
Situated in the up-and-coming area on 8th Street, Monick Yards is characterized by its original wood features, large warehouse windows, and soaring ceilings. The 12,000 square feet of space can hold up to 350 people and is divided into two large gathering areas—the Grand Hall and the Reception Hall.
“With both the Grand Hall and the Reception Hall available to you, the possibilities for personalization are endless,” said Litzen. “Each space can be styled to match your vision with ease, allowing your event to flow seamlessly from one moment to the next with minimal transitions throughout the day.”
“There’s no better way to see a space than when it’s being used as intended,” said Litzen, who chose Rose and Logan’s wedding to showcase the space.

CRAFTY COCKTAILS
The venue is also part of The Carpenter Bar Group. Litzen says their team approaches bartending as a craft, creating inventive signature cocktails that add a memorable, elevated touch to each celebration.
Their day showcased vibrant florals, a beautifully-situated sweetheart table, and thoughtful details that felt entirely their own, recalls Litzen.
“Beyond the main event spaces, they also made full use of our private suites for getting ready, relaxing, and capturing some stunning portraits,” she said.
“Their celebration highlights how adaptable the venue is and how seamlessly it can support the flow of a wedding day, offering everything couples need within one cohesive, flexible space.”
How Suite It Is
Monick Yards has two unique bridal suites—the White Room and the Green Room. The White Room includes a lounge, bistro table, and six vanity stations. The Green Room includes a lounge, seated bar, and TV. Both include mini bars, built-in sound systems, and built-in clothing racks for day-of ensembles.
Beyond weddings, Monick Yards is also looking forward to hosting more corporate and nonprofit events, offering a versatile setting for gatherings of all kinds.
