Editor
Job Type: Part Time
Compensation: Hourly
Location: Primarily in Office or Onsite for Interviews/Shoots
This is a multi-faceted, deadline-driven position, where the individual is responsible for working with the team to write content for 605 Magazine and 605 Weddings issues and 605 Creative Co. marketing projects.
The main focus of this position entails:Â
- Being assigned articles for 605 Magazine by the sales team, where the article process includes organizing the Table of Contents (TOC), scheduling interviews and photoshoots and placing them on 605’s Google Calendar, conducting the interview(s), transcribing the interview(s), completing the piece for edit rounds, and sending in the finalized piece for layout.Â
- Working on the monthly print and online event calendar, which includes researching and curating the calendar using 605’s event website guide, placing it into the Adobe event calendar document, writing 6 Things from the event calendar for the magazine, and placing it in the online version on 605magazine.com.
Other responsibilities include:
- Helping assemble swag for meetings, like 605 stickers, etc.
- Writing thank you notes to clients who were part of the editorial and/or other clients.Â
- Assisting with delivery, like helping the team receive magazines on delivery day and helping with refills when necessary.Â
- Assisting the 605 ownership with invoice and statement reminders.Â
- Assisting 605 on shoots, like modeling, organizing and loading gear, carrying gear, helping with audio and other gear setup when applicable.Â
- Keeping the office clean and organized to streamline processes.
QualificationsÂ
- Great email etiquette.
- Self starter.
- Team collaborator.
- Not afraid to ask questions.
- Excels at quick turnarounds, delegation, management, and deadlines.Â
- Comfortable with the phone for scheduling and follow ups.Â
- Able to conduct interviews with ease in person, virtually, or on the phone.Â
- Proficiency in Google Docs, Excel, Drive, etc. Â
- Organization and attention to detail to keep track of clients’ deliverables of articles and deadlines, photo galleries, and more.
Bonus
- Social media marketing experience.
- Photography/photo editing experience.
- Familiarity with Adobe for event calendar layout.
