“From menu customization to floorplan design to the tiniest finishing touches, we’re deeply invested in making each couple’s day stress-free and unforgettable.”

Emily Steber

From the Drifters Bar & Grille team in Fort Pierre, Drifters Events Center opened in 2016 with the vision of creating a place where people gather, celebrate, and make memories along the Missouri River.

“Our community needed a venue that matched the beauty of the area—something elevated, yet welcoming, capable of hosting everything from black-tie weddings to casual celebrations,” said owner Emily Steber.

When couples book at Drifters, they not only offer a riverfront venue with coordination from start to finish, but they have local drinks and in-house catering with local flavor and chef-inspired dishes for any event.

BIG OR SMALL

Drifters can accommodate a micro-wedding of 50, or a big event holding up to 300.

“From casual gatherings to elegant affairs, you can enjoy fresh flavors and a seamless experience,” said Steber. “Whether you want a relaxed buffet or full-service dining, our team handles every detail so you can enjoy the experience to the fullest.”

This year, Drifters celebrates 10 years since opening its doors. One wedding that stood out to the team was Janaina and Damani’s day.

Steber remembers it was a breathtaking fusion of modern style and cultural meaning—the bride drawing inspiration from her Mexican heritage infused the day with traditions that felt both timeless and refreshingly contemporary.

“Her lace mantilla-inspired veil, rich magenta statement florals, and elegant reception ensemble created a look that was undeniably modern, yet deeply rooted in history—a visual love letter to where she comes from,” said Steber.

Music played a starring role as well. A live mariachi band surprised guests and transformed the atmosphere, filling the event space with an energy that carried from dinner to the dance floor. Before long, Steber says guests spilled onto the patio bar, forming an unforgettable conga line that wound its way through the venue.

“What made this celebration so captivating wasn’t simply its beauty—though every detail was stunning—but how personal it felt,” said Steber. “This couple honored tradition without feeling bound by it, blending their heritage into a celebration that was undeniably theirs. It was the perfect reflection of what we love most at Drifters: when a wedding becomes more than an event—it becomes a story.”
