HOLLIE LEGGETT

Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Where do you go to school and what is your major?

I am a sophomore at South Dakota State University majoring in graphic design.

What is your creative process like?

I like to seclude myself and listen to a Bedroom Pop playlist on Spotify. It always works and helps me get creative. I used to sit in a coffee shop, but I don’t get to do that anymore.

What is your go-to coffee order?

This is kind of basic, but I like to get an Iced Chai Tea Latte with a scoop of Matcha from Starbucks.

What do you hope to gain from this experience?

I hope to gain friendships with people that are interested in the same things as me and learn how to work with the brand.

Name one person you look up to and why.

I am just going to say my mom, because she started her own business and was a stay-at-home mom. She still goes to school and works to try and further her career.

What is a show that you recommend binging?

I have been watching the new season of Riverdale. I also binged a show on Disney+ about the “Imagineers” of Disney, and I binged it so fast.

Rapid City, South Dakota

Where do you go to school and what is your major?

I am a senior at University of South Dakota. My majors are Media and Journalism and English.

How do you motivate yourself?

If I’m struggling to get something done, I like to set a timer on my phone. I will not stop working until the timer is up, and I will take a break after the timer expires.

Sweet or salty?

Definitely salty.

What is one thing that makes you smile?

When the leaves start to bud in the spring.

Share an inspirational quote.

“Here is to strong women, may we know them, may we be them, may we raise them.”

If you could go back to one decade which would you choose?

The ‘70s. It seemed like the decade where people started to express themselves more.

An Iced Caramel Macchiato with an extra shot of Espresso.

What is the best thing you do for yourself?

A lot of self care.

Did you always want a career as a designer?

No, I did not know what I wanted to do before college, and once I got there it all clicked! However, my mom always knew I was going  to be a graphic designer.

What is your favorite season?

Fall, because even though everything is dying it is still pretty.

What do you hope to gain from this experience?

Connections and working with a team.

What is your major and where do you go to school?

I am going to be a senior at South Dakota State University. I’m majoring in journalism.

Describe your perfect night in?

Lately, I will get a bottle of rosé and order sushi. I do this probably too often; it’s getting spendy. I also like watching newly-released movies.

Pizza or tacos, and why?

I would say pizza, because there is more variety and options to select, and I prefer Italian over Mexican.

Where do you feel most at home?

At my grandparents lake cabin in Ontario (fun fact, I am actually a Canadian citizen).

What is one thing you’re afraid of?

Probably spiders. I can deal with ‘Daddy-Long Legs,’ but anything else scares me.

What is your creative process like?

Typically I have to be alone in a quiet space, maybe listen to music, but it has to be acoustic. I like going on Pinterest to get creative inspiration.

Describe your aesthetic?

Vintage chic.
