“I loved getting to see multiple vendors come together to make one cohesive design,” said Josie Holzwarth, event planner and marketing media coordinator for Jane Rae Events. “From the makeup to the stationery, everything was planned and executed to match one vision.”

605 Weddings assembled a talented team of South Dakota wedding professionals to create a styled shoot filled with rich colors of reds and greens integrated with Italian flair.

The Jane Rae team was excited to plan and implement the day, which was hosted at Icon Events + DaDa Gastropub in downtown Sioux Falls.

“Being an event coordinator and designer is already a dream job for me, so styled shoots are just icing on the cake,” said Holzwarth. “With styled shoots, you are given the opportunity to have creative freedom and design a space that feeds the soul.”

And that “space” was one of the main inspirations for the shoot.

“The fresh florals played an integral role in the design.” – Josie Holzwarth of Jane Rae Events

“The venue connected to Icon, DaDa’s Gastropub, is unlike any other restaurant in Sioux Falls,” said Holzwarth. “The eclectic and artsy restaurant is known for their unique atmosphere and bar, so we wanted to make sure to highlight both in our design. Hence, the martinis and stationery with items taken straight from their menu.”

The vendors came into the shoot with three areas of focus: ceremony, cocktail bar, and table setting.

“It was fun getting to help assemble some of the pieces of the shoot and hang out with the vendors,” said 605 WeddingsGreta Smith. “The Jane Rae girls were so personable and fun, and Icon was flexible and easy to work with.”

“Find ways to include sentimental pieces throughout the day. Gifting customized cufflinks or adding a special charm to your bouquet will help calm nerves and remain focused on the meaning of the day.” – Josie Holzwarth of Jane Rae Events

“You can never go wrong with diamond-stud earrings! In my opinion, diamond studs are the perfect ‘day of’ gift. Starting with a smaller pair of studs on the wedding day gives you the opportunity to upgrade them on your anniversary, whether that’s every year or every five years! It’s the gift that keeps on giving” – Emily Arteman of The Diamond Room

Photographer Jenna Heckel of Jenna Heckel Photography was excited to mix it up at the shoot, and played around with the flash during the session.

“It was a really fun environment to be creative and do something outside of the norm of my busy season,” she said.

The Jane Rae Events team picked unique blooms to accent both the space and tablescape. For an edible focal point and to add texture, they also infused tomatoes into the event design.

“A focal piece was the use of tomatoes,” said Holzwarth. “The fresh garden feel they provided really brought everything to life.”

“Pairing your wedding rings with a matching watch or layering necklaces by using the same color or stone shape is a great way to stay cohesive while keeping your own jewelry style!” – Emily Arteman of The Diamond Room

The Diamond Room went classic with the jewelry, choosing a solitaire engagement ring and a diamond wedding band. Emily Arteman of The Diamond Room says a big trend is the comeback of yellow gold.

“In the past years, most engagement and wedding rings have been white gold, but we’ve seen a lot of customers start to mix their metals with both colors,” said Arteman.

A trend Jane Rae Events wants to see, which is shown beautifully in this styled shoot, is for couples to not shy away from color.

“Don’t be afraid of color. It is very common for a bride to come to us with a neutral color palette, which is beautiful, but our team is always excited to see color,” said Holzwarth. “Color allows for the couple’s personality to really shine and makes the design process come to life.”
