Renee Bauman opened the Certified Wedding Planner company in 2014, specializing in wedding planning, rentals, and event decorating.
“We can provide décor, set up and take down, and graphic design services for a cohesive wedding, corporate dinner, non-profit fundraiser, gala, or community event,” described Bauman.
This past November, Hitch Studio launched Hitch Studio Rentals. The new showroom in downtown Brookings opened December 2025, with rentals and a balloon décor division for any event needs all across South Dakota.
“We can create your custom look with our décor collection—included and fully styled by Hitch Studio in our wedding planning packages, or as DIY with just rentals,” she said.
When it comes to events, and especially weddings, Bauman says connection and quality time are what matters most.
“Your wedding day is about love, not logistics,” she added. “Let us handle the details so you can focus on what matters most—the beginning of your marriage and the memories you’ll make.”

One-Stop Shop
Hitch Studio is like five wedding production artists all in one. We offer full-service wedding planning, décor design, faux floral artistry, balloons, and a rental collection for ceremony and reception spaces. We also design custom invitations and signage in-house. We love providing great service! We’re also proud to say that we’re venue managers for Schade Vineyard & Winery in Volga, managing logistics and details under their beautiful tent and vineyard.
Love What You Do
I love the people—meeting all the family members, because they’re each important. I love watching the couple’s faces when their Pinterest board comes to life. I love mentoring the over 40 employees that Hitch has, and that Hitch is a stepping stone to their path in life. I love seeing couples have the best day of their lives, and knowing we had a small part in making it that way.
What’s in the Package?
Hitch Studio offers four wedding planning packages.
DIAMOND LEVEL
Wedding day management, including confirmations with every wedding vendor, detailed wedding day itinerary, helping with ceremony and reception, and answering questions to alleviate the couple’s stress.
1 CARAT
For the couple who wants their reception beautifully decorated. Use anything in the rental décor collection for free to decorate your tables. This package includes a fully styled reception using inspiration from the couple and their vision board. Also includes set up and take-down. On site for approximately six hours day-of.
2 CARAT
Everything in 1 Carat plus a full timeline of the wedding day, a centerpiece showcase (10-20 centerpieces in the couple’s wedding colors to help pick what goes on the tables), and Hitch is part of your rehearsal and ceremony. On site for approximately 12 hours day-of.
3 CARAT
Everything in 2 Carat plus the entire day, from hair and makeup until the dance is over. On site approximately 17 hours day-of.
Each Hitch Studio couple receives a free copy of their Midwest wedding planning guidebook, the Wedding Day Designer, written by Bauman.

Brookings has wrapped its arms around Hitch Studio since day one. My inspiration always comes from love stories—and from my team. Every time I see a couple’s day come together or an employee steps into their strengths, I’m reminded that purpose and creativity can coexist beautifully. One of my values is learning, so I regularly attend conferences and trainings to keep up on trends from across the country.
Into the Future
I see Hitch continuing to grow—more team leaders, more weddings across the region, more rental inventory options, perhaps another venue management location, and more creative ways to serve couples.
