Don’t be fooled by the name—while Harry’s barbershop is connected, there is also a massive restaurant by the same name and ownership in downtown Watertown.
Harry’s—or Harry’s Hair Cuts & Hot Towels—is known for a good shave and an even better burger.
Patrons can go for the popular and safe option, like Harry’s Classic Burger (served with lettuce, onion, tomato, and pickles on a toasted bun), or they can try the Burger of the Week, which the company reveals every Monday on social media.
“We have a burger that’s not on the menu every week that’s a new creation,” said general manager Angie Lawrence. “It’s something to bring [customers] back each week, and people start looking early on Facebook Monday morning.”
The week 605 visited was Harry’s Cordon Bleu Burger. The house-seasoned burger was topped with ham, two chicken strips, a three-cheese blend, Cajun alfredo sauce, and was on top of a bed of lettuce, onions, and tomatoes.
“Nachos are another one of our big menu items,” said Lawrence. “A lot of people come just for the nachos, which are plenty big to share.”
And big they are. For example, the Southwest Surf and Turf Nachos are tortilla chips topped with queso blanco, smoked shrimp, grilled steak, peppers, onions, corn and black bean salsa, a shredded three-cheese blend, and southwest ranch.
Harry’s also has a special on another popular item—wings. Monday is 50-cent wings night, and patrons can either choose a sauce or rub.
“We smoke our wings prior to deep frying them, and we have a bunch of homemade sauces,” said Lawrence. “Pineapple Whiskey is one of our most popular sauce options.”
One of the newest additions to the menu is the Sandwiches & Melts section for evening dining.
“People loved them at lunch and wanted them at dinnertime,” said Lawrence.
A fresh choice is the Turkey Bacon Swiss, which has thinly sliced fried turkey, bacon, Swiss cheese, tomato, lettuce, and house-made garlic mayo on grilled Texas toast.
Also newer to Harry’s is liquor. The restaurant acquired a liquor license in
the last year, so they have just recently been creating a cocktail list, says server Jane Allen.
This summer they’ll have cocktails like the Malibu Summer Rose.
“This is our first patio season with cocktails,” said Allen. “We’re excited to experiment with different drinks and enjoy the sunny weather.”
