NONPROFIT PIROUETTES
I love to teach and mentor aspiring professional dancers throughout our community. I also enjoy teaching free community ballet classes through my nonprofit, South Dakota Ballet. I am passionate about providing opportunities for others to try something new and discover an art form that has been handed down through the generations. There is something really special about watching someone’s confidence build as they start to master a movement.
ONE CUP AT A TIME
Before the pandemic, you could always find me as a regular at the weekly 1 Million Cups [Sioux Falls] events. I enjoy socializing while learning about the extraordinary things that are taking place in Sioux Falls. It is such a great way to start my Wednesday mornings.

BURGERS AND BREWS
JL Beers is another favorite of mine. I always order the burger with peanut butter on it, [Not Just A Nutter Burger]. As strange as it sounds, it’s actually amazing.
LOVING LEVITT
Last summer, I attended so many Levitt [at the Falls] shows that I cannot count. I volunteered at many of them, and it was a rewarding experience. The staff at the Levitt are the best of the best and know how to make something fun even if we end up tearing down tents in high winds. I love what they did to innovate this summer with Levitt in Your Living Room. I will definitely be there as soon as they return to presenting live, in-person concerts.
“The entrepreneurial events that are offered in Sioux Falls reenergize me as an executive director of a nonprofit organization. My favorite from 2019 was CultureCon by Think3D.”
DREAMING OF THE ARC
I love spending time on the bike trails, especially downtown where the sidewalk meets the bridge beneath the Arc of Dreams. In my spare time, I love studying visual design and sculptures, so I find it challenging and exciting to look at the arc in new ways every time I pass it. Dale Lamphere is a remarkable artist.

FRIENDLY SIPS
After a long day in the studio, I love relaxing and catching up with friends at Carpenter Bar in downtown Sioux Falls. It’s a loving atmosphere with friendly staff and phenomenal drinks.
COVER TO COVER
I find that reading books at night helps me unwind from the crazy day. I visit Full Circle Book Co-op quite often to pick out new stories. They have a great selection, and their store is a warm, cozy, and inviting space.
