“Chris and I have a mission to make Sioux Falls the healthiest city per capita,” said Annie Mello, owner and operations of SISU Fit.
The fitness duo recently opened the new groundbreaking facility in Cherapa Place downtown to work towards this goal.
The Mellos’ love story began with fitness, meeting at a gym in Orange County, CA in 2001 where Chris was Annie’s personal trainer.
“We both didn’t want to be in any other place other than the gym,” smiled Annie. “It was both of our ‘happy place.’”
After moving back to Annie’s hometown of Sioux Falls, they integrated quickly into the community, and say opening their first gym, CPMFITness at the Western Mall, helped give them a sense of belonging from the start.
With the launch of SISU in 2024, the Mellos started the evolution of a lifestyle brand in the fitness industry with a more holistic approach, while incorporating the downtown urban vibe being surrounded by businesses, apartments, condos, restaurants, retail, and more.
The gym offers a variety of memberships, with the standard giving members 24-hour access with a state-of-the-art sauna, cardio and strength equipment, free weights, and virtual-led classes.
