DEADWEIRD

October 26-27. Various locations, Deadwood. Times vary. Things get weird as Deadwood invites the people of South Dakota to celebrate Halloween with a Monster Ball, dancing, and a costume contest. If you have never walked the street of Deadwood dressed as your favorite Netflix character, you may be missing out on one of the “weirdest” events in the state. More info: deadwood.com.

YANKTON'S HARVEST HALLOWEEN

October 26-27. Downtown, Yankton. Times vary. Known as one of the biggest pre-Halloween celebrations in the state, this weekend is jam-packed with all things Fall. Friday will offer a ghost walk, and Saturday will include a hay bale maze, pig races, and live music. More info: harvesthalloween.com.

2018 AUTUMN FESTIVAL

October 26-27. Denny Sanford Premier Center, Sioux Falls. Times vary. This particular Autumn Festival does not focus on hayrides and scarecrows, but handmade gifts and unique home décor. Crafters from all over the nation come together to support handcrafted work from furnishings to artwork. More info: hpifestivals.com.

SIOUX FALLS ZOMBIE

October 27. El Riad Shrine, Sioux Falls. 5 p.m. Head to the El Riad Shrine to begin your adventure through the streets of downtown Sioux Falls. Themed as “As The Movies,” this is your chance to bring your favorite on-screen characters to life… or death. More info: facebook.com.

SCARE IN SQUARE

October 27. Main Street Square, Rapid City. 1 p.m. Suit up in your costumes, pick up a map, and make your way through Main Street Square to trick-or-treat in the heart of the community. More info: mainstreetsquarerc.com.
