Whether it’s the over 500,000 gallons of water in the Wave Pool or two “free fall” slides that drop 75 feet, Wild Water West (WWW) is a can’t-miss summer destination in Sioux Falls.

Director of Operations Brian Rehnke has been hard at work preparing for this season, and chatted with 605 on what he enjoys doing near and far from the water park.

When I’m at WWW, it’s hard to not munch on all of the great concessions. We have everything from Surf Side Snacks with pizza, burgers, and chicken strips to Sharky’s Beach House with unique french fries, Walking Tacos, and Funnel Cakes.

You can often find me being a family man and participating in my kids’ activities. I have helped coach or been involved in assisting one of my daughters, Bergen’s, basketball, volleyball, and softball teams over the last three years.

When I do have a free moment or two, I enjoy hitting the links either with my wife or with some friends or family. I don’t get out as much as I would like, but I just got a membership to Kuehn Park Golf Course and Elmwood Golf Course this year, so I hope to make it out more often!Since it’s (finally) time for warm weather, you can typically see me riding my motorcycle all around town.

When it’s not so nice out, or to mix things up, my kids love going to Air Madness in Harrisburg. Along with all of the trampolines and courses, some might not know that they also have Laser Madness.

RANDOM FACTS:

I can juggle.

I originally went to school to be a physics teacher. Physics didn’t choose me back!

Back in the day, I could solve a Rubik’s Cube, but I have since forgotten.

I’m willing to try eating just about any food once.

I have been solo skydiving two times.

Speaking of warmer weather, though, I also am obsessed with B&G Milkyway on 69th and Louise. DiAnn is the best!

I also really enjoy dining and being downtown. The vibe is unlike any other! There are so many options and activities all year long and things to try, it seems like it’s different every time.

The Rehnkes have become a bit of a Marvel movie family. We just went and saw Avengers: Endgame at Century Theaters after watching the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe movie series all in a row. We love going to the movies either at Century Theaters or West Mall 7, and we’re looking forward to the next chapter Marvel brings us!
