PHANTOM OF THE MATTHEWS OPERA HOUSE

FORT PIERRE'S 4TH OF JULY PARADE, RODEO, AND FIREWORKS

July 3- 4. Various locations, Fort Pierre. Time vary. Join the city of Fort Pierre for a two-day 4th of July celebration. You can see a parade, attend a fireworks show, and enjoy not just one– but two rodeos! More info: fortpierre.com.

UNCLE SAM JAM

July 4. Swiftel Center, Brookings. 5 p.m. This free event features live music by The Rude Band, plus a fireworks show shortly after sunset. During the day, enjoy a petting zoo, balloon animals, and inflatable games. More info: visitbrookingssd.com.

BLACK HILLS ARTS AND ALE FESTIVAL

July 6. Spearfish City Park, Spearfish. Noon. This festival features local food and beer from brewers like Fernson Brewing Co and Lost Cabin Brewing Co, plus a cornhole tournament, a homebrew competition, and a silent auction. Proceeds help fund a new band shell for Spearfish City Park. More info: blackhillsbadlands.com.

SIDE SHOW

July 5- 7. Black Hills Playhouse, Custer. Times vary. Head to the Black Hills Playhouse for an inspirational musical experience. Side Show explores the true story of Violet and Daisy Hilton, conjoined twins joined at the hip who rose to fame during the Great Depression.
