IN HER SHOES

February 6. Sioux Falls Convention Center, Sioux Falls. 7:30 a.m. Put on by EmBe, the In Her Shoes Empowerment Breakfast is an annual program dedicated to inspiring local women in the community to be the best versions of themselves. Roughly 1,000 attendees will come together to not only raise money for Dress for Success Sioux Falls, but to raise each other’s confidence and self-worth. More info: embe.org.

CALAMITY'S SHINDIG

February 7. Homestake Adams Research and Cultural Center, Deadwood. 6 p.m. In memoriam of Calamity Jane’s need for excitement, the Homestake Adams Research and Cultural Center is throwing a party for the community. Live music from Kenny Putnum, hors d’oeuvres from Cheyenne Crossing, and Chubby Chipmunk Hand-Dipped Chocolates are just a few of the perks of this historical bash. More info: deadwoodhistory.com.

CHOCOPALOOZA

February 8. Dahl Arts Center, Rapid City. 11 a.m. This yearly festival is held at The Dahl Arts Center and offers patrons to try free chocolate samples while they peruse local art, jewelry, and more. SIOUX FALLS WINTER CARNIVAL BREWFEST + WINTER GAMES

February 8. 8th & Railroad, Sioux Falls. 2 p.m. This brand new festival will combine locally brewed beer, live music, and winter games. Don’t forget to stick around for the Winter Jam with local bands like The Tenenbaums, and remember that all proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire. BOOTS AND BEER FESTIVAL

February 8. James Kjerstad Event Center – Central States Fairgrounds, Sioux Falls. 7 p.m. Put on in conjunction with the Black Hills Stock Show, the Boots and Beer Festival is bringing Judd Hoos and Flannel to Rapid City for live music and a Beer Tasting.
