“Buffalo Ridge Camp Resort is a luxury camp outfitter, so we offer a wide variety of accommodations such as deluxe cabins, glamping tents, luxury teepees, unique treehouses, RV hookups, tent sites, and camping cabins,” said the Custer Hospitality Hotels & Resort marketing director, Jessica Noteboom.

In the few years since the resort opened, Noteboom says they have focused on offering modern styles and conveniences, while embracing nature around the resort.
“No matter anybody’s unique needs or budget, we have something for them,” said Noteboom.
The deluxe wedge cabins, glamping tents, and the luxury teepees are modern with complete furnishings, fresh linens, and modern and local décor.
Each of the four treehouses has its own theme and a name to match: the Coop, the Gold Rush, the Renaissance, and the Serenity.
“Tucked in there enough in the trees, you feel a bit removed from the rest of it,” said Leah Scott, COO of Custer Hospitality. “There’s an intimacy that we really tried to create, so everybody can really embrace their own experience during their stay.”
For those looking for something a little more traditional, there’s an area with plenty of RV hookups, camping cabins (either economy or log), and designated areas to pitch tents.

The economy and log cabins along with standard teepees are furnished with simple beds, and guests should bring their own linens. Otherwise, there are some available to rent as well.
The resort also offers plenty of amenities, such as pools, the General Store, outdoor concessions and bar, showers, laundry facilities, a playground, wi-fi, and adventure rentals.

“You can rent a bike and hop on the George S. Mickelson Trail, which is right across the street from the resort,” said Noteboom. “You could rent a paddleboard or a kayak, go to Sylvan Lake, and spend the day relaxing there.”
A new addition to the property is the frisbee golf course, which starts near the pools and playground.
FACT
Buffalo Ridge Camp Resort is seasonal and will be open from May 14 to October 16 in 2022.
“With 85 acres to roam, it’s a perfect place to have a frisbee golf course,” she said.
All of this is nestled right into natural beauty and trees of Black Hills National Forest in Custer.
“When you stay in Custer, you are just minutes away from everything you’d come to South Dakota to see,” said Noteboom.
When staying at Buffalo Ridge, Mount Rushmore National Memorial, Crazy Horse Memorial, Wind Cave National Park, and Jewel Cave National Monument are each a short drive away.
“We’re just outside of Custer State Park, where you’ll find an abundance of wildlife and trails to get on,” said Noteboom. “Whether you’re seeking a perfect blend of adventure or serenity, the resort is definitely a place for you.”
