Visit participating breweries downtown to try drinks brewed for the 6th Annual Mash Madness. Download the DTSF Digital Passport app to vote for your favorite craft brew to win bragging rights and a traveling trophy.

2.) Black Hills Winter Festival

March 5 • Miner Brewing Co. • Hill City • 11 a.m. 

Spend a day at Miner Brewing Co. listening to live music from The Two Tracks, snacking on s’mores, and chilling out at an igloo bar with mulled wine and hot chocolate. Swing into the selfie station, and try special menu items. There will also be Crowler Fishing for the Hill City Fire Department, Fat Bike Barrel Racing, and the Miner Mutt 40-Yard Dash

3.) 28 Below Fat Bike Race 

March 11-12 • Spearfish Canyon Lodge • Spearfish • All day 

Layer up for warmth and hop on a bike for the 50k loop through the scenic Spearfish Canyon. Grab free beer from Crow Peak Brewing Co., enter to win prizes, and try to win a custom trophy from Clay Dykstra Pottery for winning the race.

4.) St. Patrick’s Day Weekend 

March 18-19 • Various Locations • Deadwood • Times vary 

Kick off St. Patrick’s Day weekend in Deadwood with fundraisers, games, and parties. Collect stamps for your PubPort to enter to win prizes. Saturday morning, start with Eggs & Kegs at Deadwood Social Club (read more on page 76), watch the St. Paddy’s Parade, join the Pub Crawl, and party with DJ Bad Brad.

5.) Wingapalooza

March 19 • Corn Palace • Mitchell • 1 p.m. 

Head to the Corn Palace in Mitchell to participate in the Wingapalooza competition. Decide who has the best wings, and support Mitchell Main Street & Beyond

6.) St. Patrick’s Day Parade 

March 19 • Downtown • Sioux Falls • 2 p.m. 

Throw on green attire and feel the luck of the Irish during the Sioux Falls St. Patrick’s Day Parade, back from a two-year hiatus. Parade participants will float down Phillips Avenue. Both the Painting of the Shamrock and crowning of the Grand Marshal will happen in front of Sioux Falls’s own Mrs. Murphy’s Irish Gifts shop.
