Whether it’s perfect patio weather, or cozy inside when the weather turns, Blue Rock Bar & Grill has their Summer Concert Series on Fridays from 6-10 p.m.

“We get a very mixed crowd that turns out for our music series. We usually have open spots as we are still growing awareness of live music,” said Blue Rock hospitality manager John Lorang

The series kicked off June 10 with Micah Wetzel, and upcoming shows will have performances by Elisabeth Hunstad on June 17 and 6 Feet Over on June 24.

“We have a great mix of artists this summer …  Our lineup can be found on our website, along with other great events we are planning,” said Lorang.

Other events include the June Wine & Cheese Night on June 22 starting at 7 p.m. The evening is sponsored by Chateau Ste Michelle and will have six different hand-picked wine pours, a complimentary charcuterie board, and a dessert display.

“At Blue Rock we are excited about our wine events and event spaces,” said Lorang. “We also have some great new menu items that are a little different from what guests may be used to.”

Choose Your Own Adventure
Here are the four unique dining spaces.

The Sports Bar

Casual dining for families, teams, and groups of all sizes. With a main bar, flexible dining space, and lively atmosphere, Blue Rock says they can accommodate any group, any time.

The Upper Deck

The upstairs dining area decked out with throwback South Dakota sports memorabilia and a rooftop patio. Close the indoor/outdoor garage doors for a more intimate feel, or open them up for a great view.

The Tailgate

This is “where the party starts.” Designed as the ultimate pre-game spot, the Tailgate features four roll-up garage doors, a patio courtyard, and a lively atmosphere for apps, drinks, and fun.

The Lodge

A warm, adults-only dining space designed for cozy, intimate meals. Surrounded by rock walls and hardwood, the ambiance is outdoors-meets-indoors for a quiet meal among friends.

A newer menu item is the Vermicelli Bowl. The dish is a mix of cilantro, pickled carrots, fish sauce, bean sprouts, peppers, cucumbers, lettuce, rice noodles, and marinated beef.

Blue Rock has made a name for itself with the Smash Burgers menu. The Blue Burger has grilled onions, bleu cheese, and roasted black garlic aioli, and is served on fresh-baked Breadsmith rolls with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle.

If the weather cooperates, patrons can relax on the patio and watch music on the stage with views of the Sanford Pentagon

“The setup works great for us as we are able to put a stage outside that is perfect to view from either our courtyard patio or our upper deck patio,” said Lorang.

The building has four unique dining areas, which Lorang says makes it a destination restaurant. Some rooms are sports heavy, while there is also fine dining.

Mac & Pork

Mac and Cheese with grilled onions, bleu cheese, roasted black garlic aioli, Nuskis bacon lardons, and candy jalapeños.

When 605 stopped by, Too Drunk To Fish was performing inside of The Lodge due to the weather.

“Too Drunk Too Fish are beloved because they have great crowd engagement, a wonderful sound, and play a bunch of familiar songs. Plus they are just great guys,” said Lorang.

As you watch the concert series, sip on the Blue Rock Blonde Ale.

“The Blue Rock Blonde Ale was made special for us by Remedy Brewing Company here in Sioux Falls,” said Lorang. “It’s a great beer that you can only get at one place in the entire world.”
