With 35 years of experience, Custer Hospitality Hotels & Resorts prides itself on providing guests with unforgettable experiences, while showcasing the true spirit and grit of the Black Hills.
“The guest experience is always on the forefront of our mind,” said chief operating officer Leah Scott. “Our team makes it their top goal and priority to ensure that our guests feel valued and appreciated with every interaction and stay.”
Custer Hospitality offers something for everyone from all walks of life.
Located in the picturesque Black Hills region, Buffalo Ridge Camp Resort offers visitors a unique experience from their lodging options, amenities, and activities.
Spread out across 85 acres and wrapped around with raw, natural beauty, Scott says that the resort has been designed to highlight the scenic and natural landscape of the area
One of the standout features of the luxury camp resort is its modern take on unforgettable lodging options, such as modern deluxe cabins, glamping tents, lavish treehouses, teepees, camping cabins, tent sites, and RV hookups.
Each treehouse, modern deluxe cabin, and glamping tent comes furnished with full bathrooms and are dressed with local and contemporary décor and lush linens.
The four uniquely designed treehouses welcome guests into the heart of nature.
“All of our treehouses are different and the names of each represent them appropriately,” said Scott. “We have the Renaissance, the Serenity, the Coop, and the Gold Rush.”
Travel centuries back in the Renaissance, which offers a majestic castle ambiance. Scott states that they didn’t want to miss a single detail with décor and to ensure an authentic experience, they wrapped the space in goblets, chandeliers, a large fireplace, and a wooden throne.
“This treehouse is perfect for kids and adults who enjoy feeling like they’re royalty for the night,” shared Scott.
For a more calm and serene experience, the Serenity is the perfect place to find your zen. Wrap yourself in plush linens and soak in the bright, calming, and relaxing atmosphere before a day of adventure.
“All of our treehouses are family-friendly and they’re the only offering that we keep open year-round,” explained Scott. “They create such a unique experience and have become a very popular selection.”
The modern deluxe cabins create the ultimate getaway experience, offering the ultimate forest retreat. All eight cabins are equipped with small kitchenettes, full bathrooms, air conditioning, patios with grills, and firepits, perfect for evening s’mores.
Guests can find their oasis in either the Sylvan, the Storm Mountain, the Stonewall, the Black Elk Peak, the Cathedral Spires, the Iron Mountain, the Valhalla, or the Falling Rock.
“Our cabins also host lush comforters, pillowtop beds for all of the extra warm and fuzzies, beautifully curated furniture, local art, and breathtaking views,” said Scott.
Buffalo Ridge Camp Resort offers a new modern take on camping with its glamping tents, hosting handcrafted custom furniture, comfortable beds with full linens, porcelain tubs or showers, outdoor fire pits, and patios that are paired with scenic views.
“All 10 of our tents get a great view of the sunset in the evenings and they also oversee the camping resort,” said Scott.
Each luxury tent is designed for every traveler’s style, like the Sunset Ridge. Designed to be ADA Accessible, the inclusive tent contains convenient amenities such as a walk-in shower and a private covered deck with ramp access.
The Summer Camp is designed to host the long-awaited family vacation, suited to hold large families looking for an authentic escape.
“We envisioned it as the place for late-night ghost stories for a group of kids,” stated Scott. “This tent is also near the shower house and restrooms.”

Scott adds that the resort hosts 106 RV Sites, both standard and deluxe, and 25 tent sites.
The deluxe RV sites have patios that provide a sneak peek of the Cathedral Spires and have newly developed pull-through spots that sit amongst the pine trees, adding a little extra privacy.
No matter how their guests choose to stay at Buffalo Ridge, they will have access to impeccable amenities.
The resort offers pools, snack shop and bar, Stonewall Bar & Concession, a nine-hole frisbee golf course, a large playground, beautiful walking paths, showers, laundry facilities, wi-fi, and the Buffalo Ridge Camp Outfitters.

“We have group picnic areas, fire pits, hammocks, horseshoes, volleyball courts, and a sheltered area that are used for reunions, birthday parties, or family gatherings,” stated Scott.
