Wild Water West Waterpark looks to provide family fun during the summer,” said office manager and marketing coordinator Kara Harms. “We provide wholesome, clean, family entertainment for the southeast South Dakota region.”

Since 1990, the waterpark has become a highly sought-after destination for the young and young at heart.

“We look forward to providing lasting memories for those visiting for the first time and our season pass holders,” said Harms.

The family-friendly aquatic playground features exhilarating waterslides, floating obstacle courses, tasty treats, and more.

“along with making memories, we offer job opportunities for young people who are looking to develop their professional skills and have an exciting summer job.” -kara harms

“We offer cabanas on the side in front of our wave pool, which is perfect for families, smaller groups, or a central meet-up with friends and family,” said Harms.

Along with aquatic attractions, Wild Water West is adding a campsite, Flamingo Falls Campground, which will feature over 145 spots, including RV and tent sites.

“It’ll have many exciting things to do, such as an entertainment space, a convenience store, laundry, and video lottery,” shared Harms.

The crew is accepting reservations for the upcoming summer season and “can’t wait” to show off the new addition.

START YOUR DAY OFF RIGHT
I love Scooter’s Coffee! I always get an Iced White Mocha and a Bacon Ciabatta Sandwich. It’s the best way to start my day.

SURF SIDE SNACKS
Working out at Wild Water West can be hard when you start to smell the concession’s food. My go-tos are the Giant Soft Pretzel (with Cheese), Walking Taco, and Chicken Strips

ESCAPE THE CHALLENGE
My friends and I enjoy going to escape rooms around town, as they can be challenging, yet very fun. The most recent one we did was called Recon: The Final Hour—South Dakota’s Scariest Escape Room at Conquer Escape Rooms

FUN FACTS

One
I love music and can’t go a day without it. My current favorite songs are Tuesday’s Gone by Lynyrd Skynyrd and Heaven by Niall Horan.

Two
I’m a board and card game fanatic, whether it’s Clue, The Game of Life, or Scattergories—I’m into all of them.

Three
I started at Wild Water West during high school as a hostess and then became the office manager after college. It’s been fun meeting new people and making memories along the way.

Four
I added a puppy to my family last August named Goose. Despite the confusion, he’s named after the animal, not after the character in Top Gun.

Five
I learned American Sign Language (ASL) in high school and I’m always working to improve. My goal is to take more classes to expand my knowledge in the area.

CINEMATIC CLASSICS
I’ve always loved going to the movies, so it’s really exciting when The State Theatre plays older movies and I can see them on the big screen. This last summer I experienced the classic Star Wars: A New Hope in theaters.

FRIENDLY COMPETITION
On cooler summer days, I recommend our Go- Karts or Mini Golf course. They’re perfect for those who love competition, like me!

SIPS & STREAMS
I find it difficult to stay away from work on my days off. I enjoy floating down the Lazy River after stopping by the Swim-Up Bar on a hot summer day.

ADVENTURE IS OUT THERE
My dog and I love to explore and walk the trails at different state parks close to Sioux Falls. My personal favorites are Palisades State Park and Good Earth State Park at Blood Run

THRILL SEEKER
If you’re looking for a thrill, I recommend our Tornado Alley tube slide. It’s one of my favorite slides at the park and is the perfect balance between thrill and fun.

HIGH TIDES
The Wave Pool is a fan favorite out here with over 500,000 gallons of water. Guests can sit along the opening, which is always very refreshing and relaxing.
