1. What drew you to become a Business Development Officer?
It felt like such a natural shift for me after spending the last 10 years as a business owner in two unique and challenging industries and to bring my experience into a role where I could serve other business owners and community members.
2. What steps do you take when creating a business development strategy?
I think it’s most important to start with researching and understanding an organization and the service area, working through to identify areas of need and potential, and establishing connections, not only for one’s purpose but to create and support community action.
3. When not working, what can we find you doing?
I can often be found at home keeping busy with animals, plants, or my kids’ imagination. My family has an acreage, and I thoroughly enjoy gardening and looking after our chickens, rescue dog, and two cats. If I’m not home, I’m most likely enjoying a local restaurant or volunteering with Sioux Empire Pit Rescue.
“My favorite part of this job is the opportunity to make connections with community organizations and businesses, and hear amazing stories from those who represent everything that makes the 605 area what it is.” -BRITTany Snyders
4. What are your favorite spots to visit in and around Sioux Falls?
My family is especially partial to the great local food and drink spots like Queen City Bakery, Fernson Brewing Company, Breadico Sourdough Bread Company, Bagel Boy, and Golden Bowl Restaurant. Of course, my kids love the local fun spots like Thunder Road Sioux Falls, Rainbow Comics, Cards, & Collectibles, and Arrowhead Park.
5. What’s something you’d like readers to know about yourself?
I’m an open book, and there’s nothing I love more than a challenge and learning something new.
