Sioux Falls entrepreneur Allyson Morgan launched Prints & Repeat to fulfill the need for high-quality artwork reproduction photography and printing services for artists.

With over 20 years of experience in the printing industry, the founder and owner has expanded the business to include online print-on-demand and drop-shipping, as well as business services including website design, video editing, graphic design, business printing, and t-shirt printing.

“I have a wide range of customers. It could be artists looking to get prints for an art show, small businesses needing classic marketing prints, or large organizations looking for unique branded gift items for their donors,” said Morgan.

Prints & Repeat originally launched in 2015 as a sidehustle with a large printer in her living room. The company grew so much (printers included) that Morgan went full time in 2022. Home is still “home base,” so appointments are required, whether it’s for dropping off, picking up, or scheduling a consultation.

Morgan says she likes to be a calm source of knowledge in an unfamiliar category of services.

“Design and print can be an intimidating process. I enjoy taking care of it for customers,” she said. “If you have a print partner who can solve the problem of ‘how can I get this made,’ I think that’s the most important thing for any business, from aspiring to experienced.”

WHAT MAKES PRINTS & REPEAT STAND OUT?

My attention to detail in fine art printing and artwork photography has earned me repeat business and referrals. Artists have traveled hours to drop off their artwork. Most people just have an idea and don’t know where to start. You can work one-on-one with me to create something you may not have otherwise imagined on your own. I also give back to my community by hosting art shows. BAZAART—held in July—was the fifth iteration of that event, and the 17th show I’ve organized.

HOW HAS THE COMMUNITY EMBRACED AND EMPOWERED YOU?

When I first started, my office was a living room with a couch, a coffee table, and a printer. I have day-one customers who still work with me today. There is a lot of trust needed when investing hard-earned money with another company. I’m so grateful for those customers who allowed me to be where I am today. I’m determined to continue to improve, because it’s what my customers deserve. I also love that I barely get through the front doors of an art show, because I start talking to several artists I know.

WHAT ARE SOME FAVORITE MEMORIES YOU HAVE WITH YOUR BUSINESS?

One of the reasons I found a passion for fine art printing is a memorable moment when an artist told me that because they sold the prints I made for them, they were able to eat that week.

ASIDE FROM PRINTING, HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR TIME?

I spend my free time in my hammock in my backyard with my dogs and my husband, Derek. I go to art shows and the State Theatre. I enjoy playing Fortnite—I’m actually pretty good at it.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT SOUTH DAKOTA?

My favorite thing about South Dakota is how connected the community is. There are artists who live close enough to walk to my house to pick up their orders. I love being part of a network of people who are creative, passionate, and talented.
