Fall is one of the best ways to experience the Black HIlls, with visitors coming from all over the world to see the vibrant foliage and what each area has to offer. The historic town of Deadwood is not only filled with crisp weather, but is also packed with a lineup of festivals, live music, and Halloween celebrations.
For those who want to be close to the Old West Main Street action, but in a more upscale, secluded way, there is The Lodge at Deadwood—an all-in-one gaming resort just up the beaten path at 100 Pine Crest Drive. From the casino to several in-house dining venues to casual and high-end room accommodations, the property has a variety of options for guests.
“The Lodge at Deadwood is one of the most luxurious hotels in the Black Hills,” said director of sales Bobbi Hawks. “The décor blends the natural beauty of the landscape and the rich qualities of a first-class mountain resort.”
Upon arrival, guests will automatically notice the panoramic views and modern lodge architecture.

Host an Event
The Lodge has 16,000 square feet of meeting space.
There are 185 hotel rooms to choose from for relaxation between exploring. Whether it’s with friends, family, couples, or for business, there are Classic Rooms, Suites, and an Executive Suite.
The two-story Executive Suite gives a 300-degree view of The Hills via the oversized windows, expansive deck, or right by the fireplace.
“We have 16 different room types that can accommodate a solo traveler to a large family,” said Hawks. “From deluxe king and double queen rooms to extralarge suites and king spa suites.”

Whether patrons are staying or going, there is plenty to do on campus, including grabbing a bite or stopping for a drink at Oggie’s Sports Bar & Grill or Preacher Smith’s Taproom & Commons.
Oggie’s offers breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and a late-night menu from 10 p.m. to midnight. Hawks says it’s not an ordinary sports bar, with menu items ranging from juicy burgers to hand-cut steaks to fresh seafood.
Preacher Smith’s offers a unique blend of history, community, and hospitality. Inspired by the legendary preacher who brought hope to the Black Hills during the Gold Rush era, the bar is much more than a taproom—it’s a gathering place “where stories are shared, connections are made, and good times are had.”

“This is our newest addition to The Lodge,” said Hawks. “Guests can enjoy a carefully-curated selection of spirits, craft beers, and crafted cocktails.”
Open from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday, the taproom has fall specials like the Apple Orchard Sour, Autumn in New York, Pumpkin Espresso Martini, and S’mores Old Fashioned. Small bites are also available like the Baked Brie and Asiago Spinach & Artichoke Dip, and signature items like Baked Penne (pepperoni, italian sausage, bacon, bell pepper, vodka rosa sauce. Ricotta cheese, and penne pasta) and Ribeye (with 12-ounce skillet fingerling potatoes and bacon-wrapped asparagus).
Experience Deadwood in full effect on the gaming floor with hundreds of slot machines and the largest table games in town.
“We have a Las Vegas-style casino with over 260 state-of-the-art slots, table games, and the BetLodge Sportsbook with the area’s largest video wall,” said Hawks. “Football season is very popular at the sportsbook.”
Take a break and step outside to enjoy the autumn breeze and atmosphere with an outdoor sitting area surrounded by the fall colors. If they’re lucky, guests can see local animals, like Bighorn Sheep.
Hawks suggests guests going on a five-minute drive to the Mount Roosevelt Trail and to hike to the historic Friendship Tower.

Family Attraction
Make a splash with the Indoor Water Playland.
“It’s an easy-to-moderate hike with a one-mile loop,” she said. “Then come back and sit out on the balcony to enjoy what nature has to offer.”
Booking the Lodge Package comes with $25 in gaming credit and $25 in restaurant coupons, getting guests a jump-start into their trip.
“The Lodge has something for everyone, like family vacations, bachelor or bachelorette parties, a romantic getaway, conventions, and so much more,” said Hawks.
