It can be difficult to get comfortable in a hotel room, especially for an extended stay. Take these tips from frequent travelers who know how to make anywhere feel like home sweet home.

  • Bring framed pictures of your friends and family.
  • Burn candles that remind you of home to remove that “hotel” odor. Or, if you’re able, open a window and bring in some fresh air.
  • Take advantage of the location’s “goodies” to make you feel comfortable. Lounge around in the robe and slippers. Use the coffee maker. Keep a few snacks in the mini-fridge.
  • Bring your own pillow. This is your best, simplest chance at a good night’s rest in a strange bed.
