Artists Against Hunger (AAH) is a collective effort of local and regional artists that come together to raise monetary donations and pantry items for Feeding South Dakota.

Over the course of 13 years, AAH has collected over 25,000 pounds of food, which has directly benefited the community. Feeding South Dakota serves 190,000 individuals with food insecurity annually, with half of those served being children.

On August 25, AAH will be honoring the life of a good friend and fellow AAH alumni, Deb Parks, at Studio Blu Photography (the back patio of 8th & Railroad Center) noon to 8 p.m.

Deb Parks was a local photographer, animal lover, and participant of AAH since the beginning. Her commitment, compassion, and her lively soul will be celebrated at this installment.

All donations made to Feeding South Dakota during the event will be made in her honor.

Different artists like Greg DenOtter, Tim Jewel, Asher Srednas, Quint Ford, Sam Geesch, and Walter Portz will be featured.

AAH provides us with the opportunity to make a direct impact in our community, while showcasing the talent and compassion that Sioux Falls has to offer,” said Alix Kyrie, AAH member. “To be surrounded by a diverse group of people that share the commonality of change is incredibly humbling and has served as a ‘springboard’ for other community projects.”
