With so many events taking place in South Dakota, we understand how it can be overwhelming to remember them all. We’ve decided to highlight our favorite things happening week by week, focusing on unique, fun, and creative events across the state.

CHINOOK DAYS

January 20-26. Various locations, Spearfish. All day. Chinook Days is a city-wide celebration of a Chinook Wind that set the world record of the fastest/greatest temperature change in 1943. Events will include an art show, a winter luau, and plenty of live music and great food. Oh yeah, there will also be beer. More info: visitspearfish.com.

THE GUILTY PLEASURES CABARET

January 23-24. Icon Lounge + Events, Sioux Falls. 8 p.m. You know those songs you blast in your car or when you clean your house? Well, get ready to sing them at the top of your lungs because The Good Night Theatre Collective is bringing them to life with The Guilty Pleasures Cabaret. More info: goodnighttheatre.com.

PRO SNOCROSS RACES

January 24-25. Days of ’76 Complex, Deadwood. All day. Make your way to the historical town of Deadwood for two full days of snocross events. From Amateur SnowBike races to Pro Lite, there is never a dull moment with this many engines revving at once. More info: snocross.com.

THE GOOD HUMOR MEN

January 25. Orpheum Theater Center, Sioux Falls. 7:30 p.m. Join Rob Haze, Tony Deyo, and Pat Hazell as they bring in the laughs with their touring comedy show. Having been seen on The Tonight Show, The Wonder Bread Years, and CONAN, these three men have a plethora of material to pull from. More info: washingtonpavilion.org.
