PAW PATROL LIVE! RACE TO THE RESCUE
January 14-15. Rushmore Plaza Civic Center, Rapid City. Times vary. Join Ryder and the Paw Patrol crew in their adventure to save Mayor Goodway during the Great Adventure Bay Race. Help the brave pups get to the finish line before Mayor Humdinger. More info: gotmine.com.
THE COLOR PURPLE THE MUSICAL
January 14-16. Washington Pavilion of Arts and Science, Sioux Falls. 7:30 p.m. Tony Award winner for Best Musical Revival, The Color Purple The Musical brings the south alive in a story about hardship and perseverance. SIOUX FALLS PRIDE GALA
January 16. Icon Lounge + Events, Sioux Falls. 5 p.m. In conjunction with Winter Pride, the folks at Sioux Falls Pride is hosting a gala to raise money for the local LGBTQA+ community. Food, drinks, a silent auction, and the presentation of the 2020 Standing Proud Scholarship Award will keep things lively and inclusive. More info: siouxfallspride.org.
CHINOOK DAYS
January 17-25. Various locations, Spearfish. All day. Chinook Days is a city-wide celebration of a Chinook Wind that set the world record of the fastest/greatest temperature change in 1943. Events will include an art show, a winter luau, and plenty of live music and great food. Oh yeah, there will also be beer. More info: visitspearfish.com.
RESOLUTION RUN 5K
January 18. Lion’s Park, Spearfish. 9 a.m. Take your New Year’s Resolution to the next level by participating in the Resolution Run 5K. Acting as the third race in the 2019-2020 series, the Creekside Ben & Vine refreshments and snacks will make the run worth it for sure. More info: visitspearfish.com.
