2.) CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING & COWBOY CHRISTMAS

Santa Claus is coming to Fort Pierre on Friday, November 27 for the Christmas Tree Lighting & Cowboy Christmas. To start off the night, event-goers can catch a ride on a wagon. At 7 p.m., gather to watch the annual Tree Lighting and to sing a few carols. Don’t forget to deck the yard with Christmas decorations early to get the chance to compete for the best décor.

3.) WINTER WONDERLAND LIGHT SHOW

Load up the whole family and head to Stokes Thomas Park. The Watertown Optimist Club’s annual Winter Wonderland will begin the Friday after Thanksgiving. The park will be decked out in bright, colorful lights and designs. After the drive, stop and make sure the kids meet Santa Claus.

4.) HILL CITY OLDE TYME CHRISTMAS PARADE & CELEBRATION KICK-OFF

Experience the Christmas festivities of Hill City with the Hill City Olde Tyme Christmas Parade & Celebration Kick-Off. Explore the various celebratory events such as the Holiday Express on the 1880 Train, the Trees & Trains exhibit at the South Dakota State Railroad Museum, and the lighted holiday parade at 6 p.m. But before the parade, be sure to stop by Alpine Inn to get your share of roasted chestnuts and cider.

5.) PARADE OF LIGHTS

The annual Parade of Lights in downtown Sioux Falls is back the day after Thanksgiving with a pandemic twist. Rather than a traditional parade during which people watch from the curbside as floats cruise by, the floats will instead line the streets as the spectators wander Phillips Avenue to check them out.

6.) HOLIDAY CELEBRATION & WINTER MARKET

Take a stroll through Main Street Square in Rapid City on the last Saturday in November to welcome the holidays with some extra cheer. The Holiday Celebration & Winter Market will include ice skating, tree lighting, local vendors, and a booth to promote Small Business Saturday.
