1.) Black Hills Stock Show Rodeo

The Black Hills Stock Show Rodeo continues through the first week of February. From rodeo events to trade shows to livestock and machinery sales, the event has all a cowpolk could ask for. On the 2nd, attend the 2021 Black Hills Stock Show Official Ranch Rodeo. Freshen up the following day with Broncs for Breakfast to prep for the rest of the week. Before the rodeo ends, don’t miss live music from The Garage Boys at the Boots and Beer Festival.

2.) Mardi Gras

Celebrate Mardi Gras north of the bayou in Deadwood. The celebration begins with Cajun Feast including appetizers, soup, entrées, and desserts. And that’s just a precursor to the Masquerade Party that follows at the Historic Franklin Hotel. The next day brings the Cajun Food Cook-Off and the main event: Deadwood’s Annual Mardi Gras Parade. To close out the celebration, Curley Taylor will take the stage at the same hotel at the after-party.

3.) Sioux Falls Winter Carnival

Embrace the season and support the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire with the Sioux Falls Winter Carnival. Kick off the carnival with the Family SnowFest, Frost Mask-erade, and more. The next day, kids can get their extra energy out and give axe throwing a try at Escape 605. During the second weekend, take the family Lazer Tubing at Great Bear Ski Valley or try the Fat Tire Bike Fest & Race.

4.) Black Hills Film Festival

Check out the various films local filmmakers have entered into this year’s Black Hills Film Festival. Attend virtually via the Film Festival Flix website, log on, select the Black Hills Film Festival, and purchase a ticket for the film you want to see. 5.) Custer Restaurant Week

Get a taste of Custer’s colorful dining scene by visiting participating restaurants like Black Hills Burger & Bun Co., The Custer Beacon, Calamity Jane’s Coffee Shop and Grill, Heart of the Hills Catering Company, Skogen Kitchen, and more. 6.) Nemo 500 Outhouse Races & Chili Cook-off
Nemo Guest Ranch | Nemo | 1 P.M. | February 27
Nemo Guest Ranch will host the 14th Annual Outhouse Races & Chili Cook-Off, inviting individuals and families from all over to come for a fun afternoon. Enter one of three race divisions to show your stuff. Kids can participate in the Scoop Shovel Races. Don’t forget to sign up for two drawings for the chance to win $500 each.
