MAY FEATURED BREWER:
CROW PEAK BREWING CO.

โ€œWhen my wife and I started the business in 2007, our number one goal was to make good beer, and our second objective was to always be a part of the Spearfish community and contribute,โ€ said Crow Peak Brewing Company co-founder and head brewer Jeff Drumm.

The brewery works to be involved mainly through sponsoring events like the Dakota Five-O, an annual mountain bike race.

โ€œWeโ€™ve been involved in that even before the brewery was open,โ€ said Drumm. โ€œThatโ€™s been ongoing for 15-plus years.โ€

But mountain biking isnโ€™t the only event emphasis for Crow Peak.

โ€œWe also support the arts like Matthews Opera House, and we sponsor the Canyon Acoustic Series,โ€ added Drumm. โ€œWeโ€™re all about giving back to the community and just appreciating the people that have supported us through the years.โ€

To do so, the brewery holds fundraisers for people in need.

When one of Crow Peakโ€™s regular patrons suffered an unfortunate accident snowboarding at Terry Peak, things were looking tough for the customer.

โ€œHeโ€™s fine, but his medical bills were sky high,โ€ said Drumm. โ€œWe just did a fundraiser to help him get funds to defray the cost of his medical costs.โ€

This month, Crow Peak will start hosting live summer musical artists again after canceling performances for 2020.

โ€œWeโ€™re just getting back in the groove of having social events and people can actually come out and enjoy music.โ€
