1.) Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo

February 1-5 | Central States Fairground | Rapid City | All Day

Experience live entertainment, many types of breeding stock for sale and on show, and South Dakota’s state sport—rodeo. Carrying over from January, tune into the last events of the Official Ranch Rodeo. Don’t miss the stock and trade shows, the animal nursery, art shows, or the Buckles & Bling Heritage Awards. Towards the end of the event, get tickets to hear Brandon Jones, see TikTok star Trey Lewis, and watch Casey Donahew perform in the event center.

2.) Bulls & Broncs

February 11-12 | W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds | Sioux Falls | 7:30 p.m.

Don’t miss the Sioux Empire Fair Association’s Bulls & Broncs in Sioux Falls in the middle of the month. Watch as riders try to best Korkow Rodeos’ stock. The animals are award winning, National Finals Rodeo stock.

3.) Winter Feast & Silent Auction Fundraiser 

February 19 | Active Generations | Sioux Falls | 6 p.m.

Throw on viking or Renaissance garb to join Siouxland Renaissance Association volunteers in their Winter Feast & Silent Auction Fundraiser. Gather at 6 p.m. for the social hour before dinner, the silent auction, and The Viking Encampment performance begins at 7 p.m. With a dinner menu of pork, meatballs, vegetables, potatoes, dessert, and more, watch the active interactions about Norse folklore.

4.) Mardi Gras

February 25-26 | Various Locations | Deadwood | Times Vary

Celebrate Mardi Gras with a fun weekend in Deadwood. Start out Friday night with free samples during the Deadwood Cajun Feast at participating locations before heading to the Historic Franklin Hotel for the Masquerade Party and coronation. Taste more flavorful dishes while the Cajun Food Cook-Off takes place. Watch the Annual Mardi Gras Parade, and end the night with live Zydeco music from Curley Taylor at the Franklin.

5.) Nemo 500

February 26 | Nemo Guest Ranch | Nemo | Times Vary

During the 16th Annual Nemo 500, adults get the chance to compete in the Outhouse Races, and kids can try the Scoop Shovel Races. If you think you may have the best chili, see if the Chili Cook-Off judges agree for the opportunity to win cash prizes.
